a5c7b9f00b The Earth has been invaded by lizard-like beings from another planet called Visitors. A small resistance of rebels led by photojournalist Mike Donovan, Dr. Julie Parrish and mercenary Ham Tyler fight the Nazi-like reign. The aliens usually appear disguisedhumans, and are led by Diana, their queen. This series features the characters from the two mini-series about aliens coming to Earth claiming to be friends but in reality have an ulterior motive. The aliens may have been beaten in the mini-series but there are still a lot of them out there. In this series, Nathan Bates, the industrialist who manufactures the biological weapon that was used to defeat the aliens, wants to get his hands on the aliens&#39; technology, so that he could profit from it, makes a deal with Diana, the alien leader. Rebel leaders, Mike Donovan, Ham Tyler, and Julie Parish know that Diana can&#39;t be trusted, so they are constantly trying to figure out what Diana is up to and stop her. I&#39;m probably going to echo other thoughts here. I loved (and still love) the V and V the Final Battle. I saw thema kid in the 80s and still watch them now. However, I did see the regular series then… at least portions of it, but couldn&#39;t remember much. I finally watched the entire season recently and well, it had a good premise, but falls short.<br/><br/>I think the producers did OK given the budget constraints at first, but like other regular series, the open ended-ness can cause issues. As with Lost and other shows, not having a defined time line can cause a show to meander with pointless filler episodes. There was some of that here.<br/><br/>The addition of characters on the Visitor side of the plot may have been needed for Diana to have an internal conflicts, but it was melodramatic and cheesy. <br/><br/>That said, I enjoyed the first half of the season,a nice extension of the mini series. Not great, but had its moments.<br/><br/>You can see a clear(and significant) change in direction and budget in the last third of the season, which falls on the last disc, if you&#39;re watching the DVD. Without getting into the plot, it really all falls apart at this point.<br/><br/>The flawed first half is worth watching for fans, but evena fan, the last episodes are very poor. Can anyone explain why half the cast disappeared from the very dodgy tv series of V. Was it a &quot;jumping off a sinking ship&quot; situation? Now i think the writers must have been completely mad to remove the Ham Tyler character from the show if it wasn&#39;t that. I suspect he walked out, especiallyhe was arguably the best character in the whole show. Oh and what is up with Marc Singers catalogue looks, he really goes overboard with the facial expressions and standing pose. Hey look at me, i&#39;m so sexy ladies!<br/><br/>Apart from that V was a classic. Jennifer Cooke is so cute, at least before she became some blinking stupid starchild, oh and ITS A WOMEN NOT A CHILD heelloooo.<br/><br/>I&#39;ll give you a story, lets take a successful project, lets convince people to stretch it into a tv series. Now,the writers are useless lets hide the fact that we&#39;re seriously under budget, the actors are walking out and the shows about to be dropped, i know, lets completely change the titles, revamp the show to save grace..oh no, didn&#39;t work, in fact, we have to wrap up everything in 44 minutes cos they&#39;ve only given us 1 episode. Wait, maybe we can sneak in a cliffhanger in case 20 years on people who actually remember the show demand a return, more cashing in!<br/><br/>Am i being harsh?
