a5c7b9f00b 500 feet beneath the ocean&#39;s surface, the U.S. ballistic missile submarine Colorado receive their orders. Over a radio channel, designed only to be used if their homeland has been wiped out, they&#39;re told to fire nuclear weapons at Pakistan. Captain Marcus Chaplin demands confirmation of the orders only to be unceremoniously relieved of duty by the White House. XO Sam Kendal finds himself suddenly in charge of the submarine and facing the same difficult decision. When he also refuses to fire without confirmation of the orders, the Colorado is targeted, fired upon, and hit. The submarine and its crew find themselves crippled on the ocean floor, declared rogue enemies of their own country. Now, with nowhere left to turn, Chaplin and Kendal take the sub on the run and bring the men and women of the Colorado to an exotic island. Here they will find refuge, romance and a chance at a new life, eventhey try to clear their names and get home. A US sub picks up Navy SEALs and receives an order for a nuke launch. Due to the circumstances of the order, the Captain refuses to fire. After escaping an attack from another US sub, the crew and SEALs take refuge on a small island. I&#39;ve been waiting with anticipation for this series. At last, a show that has a true Tom Clancy feel about it. That is it was until I watched it.<br/><br/>I understand that writers can take artistic licence especially when it comes to jam packing drama into 45 minutes. The obvious victims of this licence however is the attention to detail and the plot.<br/><br/>Whilst I don&#39;t expect absolute accuracy, I would prefer the writers don&#39;t think their audience are complete idiots. There were holes in the plot that you could pilot Red October through and the script must have been scribbled in crayonI don&#39;t think the writers would have been old enough to use an ink pen.<br/><br/>They had something that could have been great but they turned into to a military flavoured ( loosely used term) Days of our Lives.<br/><br/>*SPOILER ALERT* Where was the discipline of the sailors, why were the officers never on board, you can nuke you&#39;re own country but a two bit hood can&#39;t be dealt with, why were civilians in charge of a NATO outpost in the Pacific, why was the CO always crying and flying off the handle. I would expect more emotional stability from a person who is in charge of nuclear weapons, why was a White House aide allowed to make strategic decisions ( in fact her character had the most balls of the whole cast) and where the hell was the President in all of this.<br/><br/>This show due to its lack of fundamental research has not only damaged the brand of the US Armed Forces but it also further demonstrates the growing contempt that the writers have for the viewing public. A very good show, keeps your interest throughout! Really good acting and writing and a very different premise for television,more like a movie. Heard it might be cancelled, hope someone else picks it up cause it is so different.Story revolves around a nuclear submarine ordered to fire and they refuse and go into hiding. The captain (Andre Braugher) is a very good actor and great in this role and so are most of the rest of the cast. There are several good female roleswell so it would figure if they do cancel it.Great scenerywellI believe it is filmed in Hawaii, perhaps part of the problem is the expense related to the location. I would compare it to a &quot;Lost&quot; or &quot;24&quot; for quality with a very solid cast! Please someone pick this show up if it is cancelled!!!
